Funded by the Dept. of Children and Family Services, the IDA i$ave Program will give $4 for every $1 a participant saves, up to $4,000. Savings must be towards Homeownership, Business Start-Up, or Education Tuition.
To be eligible, a household must include at least 1 minor child. Clients must have earned income below the set maximum listed above, and participants must agree to open a savings account and contribute $50 per month.
The Highland Center will help participants complete the required program steps, which include becoming FDIC Financial Literacy Trained and completing an asset-specific training, such as a First Time Homebuyers Class. Our team will also work with participants to create a savings plan.
This program is also made possible with leadership from Southern University's Center for Social Research.
